The book I chose for today is: Where the wild things are, by Maurice Sendak. I watched the movie version of this book recently and even though the movie is pretty good, the book is always the classic. This book is about a kid named Max, who gets sent to bed without supper for being naughty. While in his room, a wilderness starts to appear, while using his imagination. Max encounters monsters called “The Wild Things”. However, Max is not afraid and overcomes these monsters by staring at them right in the eye. The Wild Things make Max their king and they start to celebrate. After a while though, Max starts realizing the true meaning of homesick. Does Max stay with the Wild Things, or go back to his house after realizing how much he missed it? Find out by reading this classic children’s book! What did you guys think of this book? What are your childhood memories about reading it?
