Today I am excited to bring you the sequel to a cute book I reviewed not too long ago called Adventures with Buster. This time, London Lake Pickett, brings you more adventures with her adorable guide dog Buster. London has limited vision, so she relies on her guide dog Buster, to help her out wherever she goes. However, Buster just isn’t “a guide dog” to London. He is a great friend, and companion. The adventures Buster has in this book take him to various places, such as the beach, the desert, and going on hikes. When you read Vacations with Buster, you will find yourself wanting to go on vacations with him as well.
This book is such a great informative book, as well as a fun book for children. It teaches children about the importance of guide dogs and what they do for people. It also shows children that guide dogs aren’t always work dogs, they need to have fun and go on vacations as well, just like London does with Buster. I think it shows the importance of respect and friendship as well as companionship. This book will have you wanting to read more adventures that London has with her dog Buster. The illustrations, done by Lynda Farrington Wilson, are beautifully done and capture the fun moments that Buster has on these vacations and brings them to life.
So if you are looking for an educational book with a lot of laughter and fun, i’d highly recommend this book. Buster will capture heart on with his adventures and vacations destinations.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Buster and I live in North Carolina with my husband, our two sons, three more dogs, a cat named Bear, and four fish. Buster is my second guide dog, and we trained together at Southeastern Guide Dogs in Florida. We have been a team for almost three years.
What do you do when you are not writing?
My first answer probably answers this question! Buster and I love to visit with groups to talk about guide dogs and blindness. Of course we talk about “Adventures with Buster” and “Vacations with Buster” now too.
What inspired you to write your first book?
My first book was inspired by Buster. He has been such a blessing in my life that I wanted to share our story.
How did you come up with the title?
Simple activities felt more like adventures after I trained with my first guide dog so it made sense to name the first book “Adventures with Buster.” The second book includes a number of trips I took with Buster so “Vacations with Buster” came next. I think the third in the series will be “At home with Buster.”
Where do you get your ideas?
All my ideas are real life experiences!
Is there a message in your book that you want readers to grasp?
I guess the important messages that I hope to share are how incredible guide dogs are as well as how to behave around them.
What books have influenced your life most?
There is not any one book that comes to mind.
Do you have any advice for other writers?
Keep those creative juices flowing when it comes time to market and sell your book(s).
Do you have anything specific you want to say to your readers?
Thank you for reading my book!
