I recently got a recommendation to review this book, and it is a cute one! The book is called Monkey and Me by Emily Gravett. In this book there is a little girl and her plush toy monkey. She repeats the phrase “Monkey and me. Monkey and Me. Monkey and me. We went to see. We went to see some…” and then she tells you what animal they went and saw. This book is simple, but really great for young children. The book is easy to read, and will have your child wanting to go see animals at the zoo with their “monkey.” Patricia Tauzer form says “Parents need to know that once they open this book they will find themselves playing along with their kids, and the little girl and her monkey, as they jump, cavort, and imitate different animals.”

The illustrations, also done by Emily Gravett are rendered in pencil and watercolor. They really bring this little girl’s personality to life, as well as the animals that she sees. So, if you’re looking for a good and simple read for toddlers and kids, I’d definitely check out this book. You’ll be saying “Monkey and Me” over and over again before you know it.
