Since Halloween is coming up in just a few weeks, I have decided to share some fun Halloween books with you all. What better way to start out than with Sounds Spooky by Christopher Cheng. In this hauntingly good book, you will be escorted through a haunted house where a young ghost girl resides. As the night continues on she can hear a noise, but what is it? Little does she know on the other side of her wall are three children like herself; wandering the mansion in search of adventure. As both their curiosity continues, it leads the little ghost girl and the children straight into each other. This book is an excellent choice if you are looking Halloween fun for your kids. The words and writing in the book are fun to read as they rhyme throughout the story. The illustrations, done by Sarah Davis, are one word; amazing. They definitely bring the book to life with its realistic detailing. It almost seems like you are looking at a still from a 3-D animated movie. Angela Hall from bugreviews.wordpress.com says “This is a case of who is scaring who? So well put together with words that will encourage you and pictures that will delight you. This one went straight to my favourites list. There is much more in this story then the delightful verses.” So if you are looking for a little bit of spooky in your literature this month, add this to your reading list. You won’t be disappointed.
