The book I have chosen for today is Ruby the Copycat by Peggy Rathmann. It is filled with great lessons, as well as an entertaining setting as well. When Ruby starts copying a girl in class, everything is fine, until the girl gets tired of it and doesn’t want to be-friend Ruby anymore. However, Ruby seems to find a way to bounce back and win everyone’s hearts again.
This book has a great message that even when things seem the worst at times, you can always bounce back. It also teaches children, just because you have a good friend and like what they have, you shouldn’t copy everything they have/do. Jeff Casto from Helium.com says “This is a well-written, entertaining story for young children about being yourself, and that everybody has something that they are good at. The message in this book can’t be stressed enough in this day and age.”
This book is definitely one that will be read over and over again. It has a great message and is entertaining to read with your kids. I highly suggest you go check it out at your library, it will be one that wins over your hearts.
